Welcome to our latest information.
I had a customer call today and asked if there was a problem with Down and Bird Flu. Since there is a Bird Flu break out in Swans in England and Germany would this effect Down from Geese. The answer is no, as Down is a by product. Ducks and Geese are raised for food in most country's and Down and feathers are removed and sold as bread and butter money. Down is the tummy part of the bird and has no quill. It is then separated from the feather and washed 8 time in detergent soap and then dried on a high heat. Down is safe. We at the Down Factory hope that this eases the minds of our customers.
